Our Stories project has focused on gathering stories along the Northern Lights Route. The aim has been to collect the stories of people and not the ones written in books. Therefore, this work has had a great value in keeping alive the storytelling traditions of the area. One goal is also to tie together the people from different areas and attract others to come and experience the stories.
The stories have also been the inspiration for new music. Our Stories project team is happy to announce that 13th August 2018 an Our Stories CD will be published! The recording artists are from Sweden, Norway and Finland.
Jord from Sweden, consisting of Susanne Rantatalo, Johanna Lindgren, Jan Johansson, Erling Fredriksson. Alongside there will be Rebecka Digervall and guest artists Jonas Palo and Isidor Abdelkader.
Visa Nordica from Finland, a solid musical combination of Esa Rautiainen, Elina Söderström, Niko Mäenalanen and Mirja Tapio.
From Norway, the talented violinist Kristin Mellem, who has worked with Jord, and storyteller Inger Birkelund.
All the artists will be presented on Our Stories blog and they will perform the songs of the album on 18th October in Haparanda. The concert is free of charge.
