I come from a small town and for a long time I’ve always dreamt that I get to visit the North because of the beautiful views and culture have always intrested me. Finally that dream came true and a whole new world opened up for me. The cold wind blew but it didn’t matter; when I looked far away to the mountains, a certain song came in to my mind from a band called Of Monsters and Men. The song is called ”Mountain Sound” and the lyrics goes like this:
”I heard them calling in the distance/So I packed my things and ran/ Far away from all the trouble/I had caused with my two hands/ Alone we travelled armed with nothing but a shadow/ We fled far away/ Hold your horses now/ Sleep until the sun goes down/ Through the woods we ran/ Deep into the mountain sound”.
The combination of the lyrics and the beatiful scenery in Norway inspirated me to do this artwork. Personally this trip was eye-opening and inspiring, that I will always remember those moments through this artwork.

Olen kotoisin pieneltä paikkakunnalta ja olin kauan haaveillut, että pääsisin joku päivä käymään pohjoisessa, sillä sen hienot maisemat ja kulttuuri on aina kiinnostaneet minua. Ja nyt se haave viimein toteutui ja ympärilleni avautui täysin uusi maailma. Kylmä tuuli puhalsi, mutta se ei haitannut; katsoessani kauas pilvien peittämille vuorille, minulla tuli mieleeni tietyn kappaleen sanat Of Monsters and Men nimisellä bändiltä. Kappale on nimeltään ”Mountain Sound” ja sanat menevät näin:
”I heard them calling in the distance/So I packed my things and ran/ Far away from all the trouble/ I had caused with my two hands/ Alone we travelled armed with nothing but a shadow/We fled far away/ Hold your horses now/ Sleep until the sun goes down/ Through the woods we ran/ Deep into the mountain sound”.
(Kuulen heidät kaukaa/ joten pakkasin tavarani ja juoksin/ kauas kaikesta hankaluuksista, jotka aiheutin käsilläni/ Yksin matkustaen ilman mitään muuta kuin varjoni/ juoksimme kauas pois/ Hillitse itsesi/ nukumme kun aurinko laskee/ juoksemme läpi metsän/ syvälle vuorien ääniin).
Yhdistelmä laulun sanoilla ja Norjan hienoilla maisemilla sain inspiraation tehdä tämän teoksen. Henkilökohtaisesti matka oli silmiä avaava ja innoittava, joten muistan aina hienot kokemukset teoksen kautta.
