Ingrid Johansen from Manndalen is interviewed by her daughter Elisabeth Johansen. Ingrid speaks Kåfjord Sami – the Sami dialect she has grown up with, while Elisabeth has learned Sami as an adult.
Ingrid talks about her relationship with Sami as she grew up and she shares her thoughts of the new law of Sami language that was introduced in her hometown in 1992. Her experiences show us the importance of Sami language for mother tongue users – especially when we grow older.
