On our Norway trip, one night me and my friends saw dim northern lights. We had our SLR cameras with us so we quickly took them out of our bags and tried to take pictures of those northern lights. We didn’t manage to get good photos, but I had fun trying to take pictures of such a transient phenomenon! I did not think that we would actually saw any northern lights on our trip.
In my drawing I also wanted to capture the distant but beautiful mountains. How peculiar it is that when you across the line the sight suddenly changes so much. Kven people really have an amazing surroundings.
Norjan reissussamme minä ja ystäväni näimme yhtenä iltana himmeitä revontulia illalla. Meillä oli järjestelmäkamerat mukana, otimme ne äkkiä ulos laukusta ja yritimme ottaa kuvia revontulista. Valokuvat eivät onnistuneet, mutta minulla oli hauskaa silti yrittää ottaa nopeasti katoavasta ilmiöstä kuvia! En ajatellut, että sattuisimme juuri tällä reissulla törmäämään revontuliin.
Kuvasin myös piirustuksessani kaukaisia, kauniita vuorinäkymiä. Erikoista, miten rajan ylittäessä maisemat muuttuivat hetkessä toisenlaisiksi. Kveeneillä on kyllä upea asuinympäristö.
